My Background

Before becoming a consultant, I worked in the not for profit and cultural sector for over a decade, beginning my career within social action and health charities. My first senior leadership role was Head of Development at Tate Liverpool, where I oversaw multiple income streams, strategic partnerships and projects (2014- 2019). Since then, I’ve worked on a range of contracts - including supporting Bridging the Gap to adapt its foodbank services during the COVID pandemic, and as Deputy Director at NPO Arts Catalyst. From 2021-25 I was p/t Head of Development for Manchester based NPO Reform Radio.

Testimonials

“If anyone is looking for support with funding and development work - Jo is the one! Jo's input to our team's strategy and knowledge on the sector has been transformational. Her knowledge and experience writing complex bids and tenders is second to none. Would highly recommend Jo for any roles in funding, development and strategy, she is an absolute asset to any team.”

Rachel Roger, Director, Reform Radio

“Jo is an outstanding fundraiser. She quickly integrated as part of the team, built a solid understanding of our programme and aspirations and consistently delivered results that have enabled us to grow both our restricted and unrestricted income. I couldn't recommend her highly enough.

And of course the real difference can be seen in how this additional income has enabled us to extend and sustain our public benefit offer as a charity at a time when competition in Trust and Foundation fundraising is so fierce.

Jo has written fundraising strategies, scoped sources of funds, collaborated with our artistic project leads, influenced Board decision-making with timely insights and championed hitting our income targets with amazing results. Every fundraising target has been met in the 2 years she's been working with us and we've not been short on dreaming big.”

Adam Holloway, Director, Cheshire Dance

Jo is brilliant to work with and comes highly recommended. Jo is extremely knowledgeable, experienced and is an excellent addition to the team. I really enjoyed working with Jo as she is easy to get along with, thorough, reliable, and has first rate writing skills. Jo always had a suggestion if we became unstuck with the project and her can-do attitude led to a very successful project outcome.
